VHC offers non-emergent care only

Urgent Issues:

  • Prolonged or heavy bleeding

  • Difficulty urinating - especially male cats. In and out of their litter box, or crying/passing blood

  • Trauma (hit by a moving vehicle or other forceful object)

  • Cannot lie down or get comfortable, especially in large breed dogs

  • Complete loss of appetite

  • Collapse, fainting

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Can't move hind end or one limb

  • White gums

  • Severe pain

  • Prolonged seizure

  • Severe vomiting or diarrhea shortly after vaccination (within 24 hours)

  • Toxin (i.e. bleach, antifreeze, lily exposure, ingesting recreational drugs)

** Never administer medications without contacting an emergency clinic first**

If your pet is faced with a life-threatening emergency, please take them to the nearest clinic that is open.
